Last night we were excited to get suited and booted and attend The Lancashire Tourism Awards 2021 held at Stanley House Hotel and Spa in Blackburn – it’s been a while since the posh frock and shoes have come out of the wardrobe – #covid #lockdown #farmlife!

Tourism is huge for Lancashire and the Awards recognise and celebrate all things tourism & hospitality – an industry that we are proud to be a part of. After the unprecedented challenges of the pandemic, it was particularly good to be celebrating what has been a really difficult time for this sector.

There were sixteen categories being honoured – including Lancashire Perfect Stay, Hotel Wedding of the Year, Experience of the Year.

We were delighted to be shortlisted as finalists in the ‘New Tourism Business’ category along with Hampton by Hilton Blackburn, Orchard Glamping, Catterall and The Secret Garden Glamping, Skelmersdale.

As we walked down the red-carpet entrance – it was set to be a fun night and, after wining and dining on some lovely local fare – the Awards were presented by Blackburn-born comedian Tez Ilyas.

And drum roll please …

Sadly, we lost out on the silverware to The Secret Garden Glamping, but, firstly huge congratulations to them and secondly, we are still thrilled to have been a finalist. And, in true Award Ceremony style (though not quite an acceptance speech!) we would like to thank each and every one of you that have supported us here at Ridgeway Farm.

Here’s to next year …
