Why choose Ridgeway Farm for your educational visit?
At Ridgeway Farm, we’re approved by Lancashire EVOLVE and actively encourage schools to link with the curriculum, particularly KS1 and KS2.
To help you make the most out of your time on the farm, we can tailor your visit around individual class topics, linking in with “Countryside Classroom”, “LEAF”, “Social Farms and Gardens” and the “NFU” educational resources.
We can explore a range of subjects, including Geography, Science and History, as well as topics such as field to fork farming, habitats, life cycles, weather, climate, environment, soils and land management, and STEM. The possibilities are endless, so you’re sure of an educational and inspirational experience at Ridgeway Farm!
All of our welcoming and knowledgeable farmers are DBS cleared, and we have all the necessary Public Liability insurance in place, so you’ll enjoy total peace of mind throughout your visit.

Visit the farm!
We charge £5 per child for school day visits, based on a minimum of 30 children. Accompanying adults are free.
Your day will be hosted by Farmer Helen and includes a guided farm walk and various activities. Please note the activities will be determined according to the season and farming calendar.
Children will need to bring their own packed lunches and we suggest wearing wellington boots or old outdoor shoes. Waterproof coats are also recommended as visits will go ahead in all weathers!
We visit you!
At Ridgeway Farm, we understand that the Road to Recovery is challenging, and not everyone is comfortable taking groups on outings just yet. That’s why we’re happy to pay you a visit in your own setting!
We’ll bring some of our smaller animals to you and tailor the visit to your class topics. No need for coaches and packed lunches!
Our school visits cost £100 for a half-day session and £200 for a full day. Up to a 10-mile radius from the farm.
Small groups and clubs
As well as school bookings, we offer farm visits for small groups and clubs. These visits are charged at £75 for a two-hour session.
Maximum of 15 children.
Visits must be mid-week and out of term time.
Small animal visits
We also offer small animal visits to care homes, nurseries and private homes. Book now for only £50!
